Atlanta CleanTech Fund II Closes $60 Million Round to Accelerate Clean Energy Innovation
ATLANTA, GA — January 15, 2025 —
Atlanta CleanTech Fund II announced today it has closed a $60 million funding round, marking a significant milestone for the Southeast's growing clean energy investment landscape. The raise drew commitments from a mix of institutional investors, family offices and strategic corporate partners focused on accelerating the energy transition.
The fund will target early- and growth-stage companies developing technologies across solar, energy storage, grid modernization and sustainable infrastructure. Fund managers said they expect to deploy capital across 15 to 20 portfolio companies over the next three to four years, with an emphasis on startups headquartered in or expanding into the Southeast.
"The Southeast has quietly become one of the most compelling regions for clean energy development in the country," said Managing Partner Sarah Caldwell. "Between the manufacturing expansion driven by federal incentives and the region's growing technical talent base, we see exceptional opportunities to back founders who are building the infrastructure of tomorrow."
The announcement comes as Georgia continues to attract significant clean energy manufacturing investment, including several major electric vehicle and battery production facilities. Atlanta CleanTech Fund II's portfolio already includes eight companies across energy management software, distributed generation and clean industrial processes.
The fund expects to make its first new investments from the current raise in the first quarter of 2025.
