SteelCity Digital secures $2.2M seed round to accelerate B2B e-commerce infrastructure platform.
SteelCity Digital, a Birmingham-based B2B e-commerce infrastructure platform, today announced it has closed a $2.2 million seed funding round to accelerate product development and expand its go-to-market operations.
The funding round was led by Forge Venture Partners, with participation from regional investors and industry angels. The capital will enable SteelCity Digital to enhance its core platform capabilities, expand its engineering team and scale customer acquisition efforts across the manufacturing and wholesale distribution sectors.
SteelCity Digital provides mid-market and enterprise companies with an integrated e-commerce infrastructure designed specifically for complex B2B transactions. The platform streamlines order management, inventory synchronization and customer relationship workflows while reducing implementation timelines and technical debt compared to legacy systems.
"This investment validates our vision of modernizing B2B commerce for businesses that have been underserved by generic e-commerce solutions," said Jennifer Patel, founder and CEO of SteelCity Digital. "Our customers face unique challenges—multiple sales channels, complex pricing structures and intricate fulfillment requirements. We're building the infrastructure layer that lets them compete in an increasingly digital marketplace."
The company currently serves 47 customers across industrial distribution, specialty manufacturing and wholesale retail. Notable clients include regional leaders in steel fabrication, automotive parts distribution and building materials supply.
SteelCity Digital plans to use the funding to launch three new product modules within the next 18 months and expand its customer success team.
