Tiger Aerospace Systems Secures $15M to Accelerate Next-Generation Defense Technology Development
AUBURN, AL — June 16, 2025 —
Tiger Aerospace Systems, an Auburn-based defense technology company specializing in autonomous systems and advanced sensor integration, announced today it has closed a $15 million Series A funding round led by Frontier Defense Ventures, with participation from SouthEast Capital Partners and several strategic angel investors.
The company plans to deploy the capital across three core areas: expansion of its engineering workforce, acceleration of its proprietary sensor fusion platform, and scaling of manufacturing operations at its Auburn facility. Tiger Aerospace expects to grow its headcount from 42 to more than 90 employees over the next 18 months.
"This funding validates what our team has been building since day one — reliable, field-ready technology that addresses real gaps in the defense supply chain," said CEO Marcus Tillman. "Auburn's proximity to Fort Novosel and Redstone Arsenal gives us an unmatched operational advantage as we move toward full-scale production."
Tiger Aerospace's flagship product, the Apex-7 sensor integration system, is currently in advanced testing with two undisclosed U.S. Department of Defense contractors. The company anticipates its first government contract award in the third quarter of 2025.
The raise positions Tiger Aerospace among a growing cluster of defense technology firms choosing Alabama as a hub for innovation, citing the state's favorable business environment and concentration of aerospace and military infrastructure.
