What is Signal Arc?

Signal Arc is a private capital intelligence platform built for investment firms, lenders, private equity, venture capital, and family offices focused on the Southeast US. It monitors hundreds of public and private data sources — SEC filings, press releases, government contracts, hiring patterns, news, and more — and surfaces the signals that matter to capital deployment decisions. Think of it as a private PitchBook, built specifically for the Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, and broader Southeast market.

Who is Signal Arc for?

Signal Arc is designed for institutional capital allocators: private equity analysts, venture capital associates, commercial lenders, family office managers, and independent investors actively sourcing or monitoring deals in the Southeast US. Each firm gets its own private tenant portal at /capital/[your-firm]/. Your data, your watchlist, your deal pipeline — none of it is shared with other tenants.

What signals does Signal Arc track?

  1. 1
    SEC Form D filings
Private placement and fundraising filings pulled from EDGAR in real time. Every Alabama and Southeast company raising capital shows up here first.
  2. 2
    Press releases (Press Room)
Announcements submitted directly by founders through the Its Buzzing Press Room — the most curated, high-signal source in the feed.
  3. 3
    Government contracts
SAM.gov contract awards. A company winning a federal contract in Alabama is often a strong pre-raise signal.
  4. 4
    Executive hires
Senior leadership changes pulled from news and press wire feeds — a new CFO or VP of Sales often precedes a raise.
  5. 5
    Job postings and hiring velocity
Rapid headcount growth tracked across major job boards. Hiring spikes in engineering or sales correlate strongly with funding activity.
  6. 6
    Grant awards
SBIR, STTR, and federal grant awards — especially common in Alabama's aerospace, defense, and biotech corridors.
  7. 7
    News mentions
Google News, PR Newswire, BusinessWire, GlobeNewswire, and Birmingham Business Journal feeds, processed hourly.
  8. 8
    13F holdings
Quarterly SEC 13F filings from institutional investors — see who holds what in your target markets.

Navigating your dashboard

Your Signal Arc portal has six main tabs: Dashboard (today's top signals and high-conviction companies), Companies (search and filter the full company database), Signals (real-time signal feed with type and strength filters), Watchlist (companies you're actively tracking), Digest (morning briefing — high-conviction companies and overnight signals), and Press Room (releases submitted directly by founders). Use the search bar to find any company by name, domain, or state. Filter signals by type, strength threshold, or geography using the controls in each view.

BuzzIntel Score — what it means

Every company in Signal Arc has a BuzzIntel Score from 0 to 100. It's a composite of recent signal activity weighted by type and strength: SEC filings and government contracts score highest; news mentions and social signals score lower. A score above 70 means the company has had significant verified market activity in the last 30 days and is worth reviewing. A score above 85 is institutional-conviction level — these companies are actively making moves.

AI-generated memos and reports

On any company profile, click Generate Memo to produce a 3-section institutional investment memo: company overview, signal summary, and analyst assessment. The memo is generated by AI using everything Signal Arc knows about that company — funding history, signals, executive data, and any analyst notes your team has added. Premium tenants can also generate proposals and lookalike company profiles from their watchlist.

Watchlist and alerts

Add any company to your watchlist from their profile or from any signal card. Watchlisted companies appear first in your feed. You can set alert preferences per seat — choose your signal strength threshold (we recommend 70+ for daily digest, 85+ for instant alerts), your delivery method (daily digest email, instant email, or SMS for high-conviction signals), and whether you want global signals or only companies in your geographic focus.

Data scope — geographic filtering

Your firm's Signal Arc tenant is configured with a geographic scope — for example, Alabama and Georgia only. This means your dashboard, company search, digest, and signals feed automatically filter to companies headquartered in your scope states. You won't see noise from states outside your investment mandate. Your tenant admin can adjust scope at any time.

Signal Arc and the Press Room

The Press Room feed inside Signal Arc (the Press Room tab in your portal) shows releases submitted directly by Southeast founders — the highest-quality, most curated signal source available. Unlike scraped news, these are verified announcements from the companies themselves. You can add any company from a press release to your watchlist or pipeline directly from the release card.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get access to Signal Arc?
Signal Arc is invitation-only for institutional capital allocators. Request access at /signal-arc and our team will reach out within one business day to discuss your firm's focus and set up your tenant portal.
How many seats does my firm get?
Seat counts depend on your subscription tier. Each seat has its own email login, alert preferences, and watchlist. Seats share the same tenant data — all analysts see the same company database and signals — but each seat's notes, pipeline, and alerts are private.
How current is the data?
Press releases and news: updated hourly. SEC Form D filings: within 24 hours of EDGAR publication. Government contracts (SAM.gov): weekly. 13F holdings: quarterly. Job postings: weekly. BuzzIntel Scores: recalculated every 6 hours.
Can I export data or connect Signal Arc to my CRM?
Yes. Use the Sync to CRM button on any company profile to push it to your It's Buzzing CRM pipeline. Full CSV export and API access are available on higher-tier plans. Contact us to discuss integration with your existing deal tracking tools.
What states does Signal Arc currently cover?
Primary coverage: Alabama, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, and Kentucky. Signal Arc also ingests national sources (SEC EDGAR, USASpending, Google News) which surface relevant companies from any state — but the Southeast is where our signal density is highest.
Is my firm's activity visible to other tenants?
No. Your watchlist, notes, pipeline, and alert settings are completely private to your tenant. Signal Arc is a multi-tenant platform but with strict data isolation — no tenant can see another's activity, portfolio, or notes.
Can I submit a company I want to track if it's not already in the database?
Yes. Use the Add Company button (available to owner and admin roles) to manually seed a company profile. Once added, Signal Arc begins monitoring that company's signals in subsequent data ingestion runs.
